Goals of the Student Senate
To Foster a Strong Sense of Community
The student senate is a group of students that desires to serve the student community at the Union. It is their hope to develop and support events that help to foster student participation in the educational, worship, and community life of the Union. In order to accomplish this, the student senate seeks to listen to the needs of the student community and work toward fulfilling them. Some the events we have sponsored to help develop a deeper sense of community have been the festival of the arts, seasonal celebrations, bagged lunch social justice speakers, and other activities.
To Be a Voice for Students
The student senate also serves as the voice for the students to the administration and faculty. The student senate is a place where students can come to voice their concerns and suggestions about changes that can be made to enhance their experience at the Washington Theological Union. If you have anything that you feel like the student senate can address please contact the student senate at senate@wtu.edu or visit the student senate office during office hours. Office hours are:
- Tuesdays from 7:00-8:00 p.m.
- Thursdays from 10:00-11:00 a.m.

April 4: Festival of the Arts—Gather, Create, Proclaim
Please join us for an afternoon and evening to celebrate the gifts of the various members of the Union. During this event we will have prayer, art exhibits, music, comedy skits, poetry, story telling, and many other gifts that students and faculty will bring. Festivities start at 4:30 p.m. and will go till approximately 9:30 p.m.
We are looking for people who are interested in performing at Karl’s Café. This is an opportunity for students to showcase their musical talents or do comedy skits. In the past students have enjoyed the opportunity to break loose from the theology and have fun with it ;-)
