Registration

  • Review semester schedule for courses offered.
    Spring 2011 registration begins November 1, 2010.
  • Registration forms should be submitted as soon as possible and no later than December 15, 2010.
  • Check academic requirements for courses needed.
  • Download and complete registration form (PDF icon) and print/fax form directly to Registrar (202.541.5285).
    Check your email for follow-up confirmation of registration.

Blackboard Information

Orientation

  • Spring 2011 on-site orientation will be held on January 7, 2011 from 2:00 to 6:00pm. Contact Dean of Students, Dr. Kathy Brown (202.541.5216 or kbrown@wtu.edu).
  • For distance education students, a special on-line orientation is scheduled; contact Laura Glasgow f202.541.5219 or glasgow@wtu.edu).

Academic Advisement

  • Each degree and certificate student is assigned a faculty member for academic advising, normally made one to two weeks before New Student Orientation.
  • Advisor contact information will be sent by email shortly before the semester begins. Students should contact their advisor early in the first semester.

Financial Aid

  • Review aid options.
  • Download and complete application form (PDF icon): fax form directly to Financial Aid Office (202.541.5285).
    • Check postal or email for notice of award decision.
    Awards are not posted to students' accounts until August or thereafter based upon registration.

Tuition and Bill Payments

  • Tuition/other first appear in the August, January or June monthly statements.
  • Monthly account statements are sent out by postal mail.
  • Make full payment immediately upon receipt of statement, no advance payment is needed.
    Pay by: credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) using on-line method or phone (202.541.5237): check or money order by mail; credit card, check, money order or cash in person (Business Office, room 400); include statement with mail or in-person payments.
  • Late payment penalty imposed monthly (1-1/2% of outstanding balance).

Library

  • Student ID badge, with bar-code on back, allows you to check out items from the library. On your first visit, present your current (valid) Union ID badge to set up an account in the library system.
  • Key library services/facts: contains over 130,000 volumes, periodicals, and several online resources (including ATLA / ATLAS Religion Database, Catholic Periodical and Literature Index, Proquest); additional services include an extensive collection of theological reference sources in the Chris and Dolores Degheri Reading Room, computers and printers, and Wi-Fi access.
    Access to Carmelite materials is available at nearby Whitefriars Hall and access to over 1 million volumes of theological sources is available through the Washington Theological Consortium (WTC).
