This Week at WTU
Looking Ahead: Please Remember in your Prayers...Very Rev. Leo McCarthy, O.Carm., who passed away on Wednesday, November 18th. He and his family have been generous supporters of WTU. As Provincial of the Carmelites he served on the Board of Trustees from 1997-2002. From 2000-2002 he was Chairman of the Board of Trustees. It has been through the
generosity of the McCarthy Family that the McCarthy Endowment was established and is
used to support a Lecture Series and Theology and the Arts.
May 2010 WTU Tour to Turkey and Greece
![]() Once again professors Theresa Koernke, IHM, and Joseph Wimmer, OSA, are organizing a study tour in the footsteps of John and Paul, May 14-27, 2010, but this time with a greater emphasis on the growth of the early church. Tour members will follow Paul through the ancient Greek and Roman ruins of Athens, Corinth, Thessalonica, Philippi and Ephesus, and read his letters on location. They will experience the spirit of St. John in the city of Smyrna and while walking through the magnificent ruins of Pergamum and Ephesus (Rev 2:1-17). Theology EnrichmentWashington Theological Union has a wonderful, but little known benefit for alumni, diocesan clergy and local ministers. As a continuing education ministry WTU graciously allows these groups to audit one course per semester for the low, low rate of $340/course! Registration ends next Friday, November 20th, so see the Spring Course offerings and registration form now! Note from the RegistrarNEW LOOK WEBSITE. Some important appearance and structural changes have been made to our website that have been activated this week. There are some bugs still being resolved and some further changes to be made. Most importantly for current STUDENTS, please note that all descriptive information, forms, instructions, policy, etc. concerning academics are now located exclusively under the "Academic" section of website. We hope that these improvements will foster better communication, ease of use, and stimulate greater public and prospective student interest. Links |
