The Washington Theological Union is a Roman Catholic graduate school of theology and ministry. The Union participates in the mission of the Church in its pursuit of truth and integration of knowledge for the common good. Sponsored by the religious communities and informed by their charisms, the Union educates for ordination, lay ministry and leadership in the Church and world. Mount Aloysius College, a private, Catholic, liberal arts College, is searching for qualified candidates for a full-time, 10-month position (August – May) as Associate Director of Campus Ministry.
The Associate Director will work as a member of the Campus Ministry Team to design programs including retreats, liturgical celebrations, service outreach and other opportunities to nurture the spiritual life of a Catholic College Campus which is inclusive of ecumenical and multi-cultural diversity. The Associate Director is responsible for other pastoral, liturgical, and administrative activities including but not limited to: Student Ministry Program, support of students, annual planning, fund-raising and evaluation of Campus Ministry Programs. The Jesuit Volunteer Corps is hiring its first Program Director for Ignatian Formation. This position is a key member of the Program Leadership Team with primary responsibility for setting and implementing the formation goals for ALL Jesuit Volunteers, managing the multiple annual retreats for domestic and international volunteers, and providing strategic leadership around Ignatian spirituality to the whole of the JVC organization. The Program Director serves as primary oversight of the international program of JVC, supervising Program Coordinators who work with the international communities and managing the work of a Program Coordinator focused on Formation. The Rev. Catherine D. Hicks, the Rector at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Port Royal, Virginia, has been named recipient of Virginia Theological Seminary’s 2013 John Hines Preaching Award. The award is given annually to the outstanding preaching entry “where prophetic voice is central within the sermon.”
Rev. Hicks received her Spiritual Direction Studies certificate from the Washington Theological Union.
